Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?

Senator Obama introduced a bill early 2007 entitled To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to authorize grant programs to enhance the access of low-income African-American students to higher education.”

The short title is Predominantly Black Institution Act of 2007.

The amendment’s Purpose: It is the purpose of this section to assist Predominantly Black Institutions in expanding educational opportunity through a program of Federal assistance.

Eligible institution:

The bill makes availability of grant money limited to (among other things) an institution  who has an enrollment of undergraduate students that of not less than 40 percent African-American students

When Senator Obama introduced the bill to the Senate there were no co-sponsors. The bill is long and complicated and works in conjunction with “The Higher Education Act of 1965.” To read the entire text of the bill Obama introduced click on the link below.
