President Obama: I guarantee you will need an “education.”
I beg to differ with President Obama. And so should you.
But this isn’t just about President Obama. This is about the way we’ve begun to think as a country.
The foundation of this country was built on the integrity of performing an honest days work, superior workmanship and the quality of ones’ character. A mans word meant something and he returned what he borrowed. Always.
That’s our prestigious history, yet I never hear any emphasis on the characteristics that made this country the greatest in the world.
Granted, a formal “education” has it’s place. Likewise, alot of Americans — not formally educated — have contributed to the historical building blocks that has made our country the greatest. “Smarts” trumps a formal “education.” Smarts is what built this country.
Have you ever watched a construction site? Do you think those are college or ivy league “educated” people swinging those hammers?
Someone needs to swing the hammer, install the phone line, build the bridge, dig the ditch, fix the road, milk the cows and unplug the sewer line. The list is endless of Americans we need to hold down those jobs that don’t need a college degree.
I saw a short interview with Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe. Dirty Jobs is a cable television show that gives viewers a glimpse of different dirty jobs across America. As a guest, Mike Rowe performs the spotlighted job for a day.
I applaud him.
Mike Rowe is the first person in this country who has publicly stood up for those people who are silently in the background keeping this country running. Those dirty jobs that don’t necessarily need a college education to perform.
Those jobs are equally as important in running this country. The people are educated who are doing those jobs although they may not have gone to college.
Those jobs will never go away.
The second idea that’s slipped into our culture without any dispute is that Americans won’t do “those” jobs.
Our own government is suggesting citizenship to illegal immigrants in our country on the pretense that they are the only people who will do the work. I suppose it sounds better than to say illegals have permeated the employment opportunities for the less formally educated Americans in this country. Tomato. Ta-mah-to.
Again, I refer to Mike Rowe. Watch Dirty Jobs and make a mental note of who the people are doing those dirty jobs.
I refute the idea that Americans won’t do those jobs and that everyone needs a formal college degree.
Additionally, I offer a grateful thank you to all those Americans who are not being acknowledged.
I offer an apology for every hard working American without a formal college education for the way our President insinuates you are something less without a college degree.
I’m ashamed as an American to have bought into the two ideas.
So should you.
On a government website on August 4, 2009 an e-mail address has been issued informing people that
”There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.”
The whitehouse is asking for the public to report e-mail and websites that talk about health insurance reform that doesn’t match up with whitehouse speak.
To quote an old saying
“If you can’t attack the message,
attack the messenger”
Personally, dubious of the chatter that I’d heard about the healthcare bill, I pulled up the bill and read the excerpts. To date, although I have heard disinformation, it has not been initially issued from the public.
My advice to you is to read the excerpts in the bill yourself.
The “disinformation” about having to give the government access to your bank account is on page 58-59 (search phrase: enable electronic funds transfers)
The “disinformation” about the elderly having to be submitted every five years, after age 65 to hospice councelling is on page 424-425 (search phrase: Advance Care Planning Consultation)
The “disinformation” about the failure to be able to purchase private health insurance after this bill is enacted starts on page 16 (search phrase: Protecting the choice to keep current)
The “disinformation” about being required to have health care coverage. This new IRS rule, which is a tax imposed on individuals without “acceptable” health care coverage at any time during the tax year is on page 167 (search phrase: tax on individuals without acceptable)
The official bill can be accessed here: HR 3200
Be aware that once you e-mail the White House with that “fishy” information to the government you’ve just submitted your e-mail address, IP address, name and other information surrounding the correspondence to permanent government record. The law requires all records be kept.

Debt relief is not a new thing with Obama. He has been giving away money since he first became a Senator.
On June 28, 2005 Senator Obama (along with Senator Biden) co-sponsored a bill called the Multilateral Debt Relief Act of 2005.
The bill was designed to provide multilateral debt cancellation for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries, and for other purposes.
This approach implies that the United States pardons mismanagement, dictatorship, and corruption-the circumstances that led many countries to pile up their debt.
As the recent Global Poverty Act demonstrates – Obama believes our country should continue to fund poor countries governments regardless of whether government corruption and bad policies are to blame for their poverty.
In part the bill states:
That proposal would cancel approximately $40,000,000,000 in debt stock owed by 18 countries immediately, and would ultimately result in the cancellation of a total of approximately $56,000,000,000 in debt stock owed by 38 countries, saving such countries, on average, $1,500,000,000 each year in debt service payments. To offset foregone interest and principal repayments, donors would provide additional resources to the World Bank and African Development Bank for grants and lending to the poorest countries for investments in the health, education, and well-being of the people of such countries.
The 18 countries: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Honduras, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia
The question every American should ask himself.
Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?
S.1320 (109th Congress)
A good bill will oftentimes go bad because of the earmarks attached to it. The more popular the bill is with the public – the better the chances that it will pass. It’s within those bills that congressional members attach their earmarks. After all, it’s a sure thing! Those who oppose the bill will be ridiculed for voting no – even though the “no” represented a clear refusal to vote in “the pork.” The Mortgage Rescue Bill was a prime example.
Although Barack Obama is a freshman senator, he’s inserted 53 special earmarks, totaling almost $97.4 million. Obamas earmark total over the years amounts to almost a million dollars for every single day he was in the United States Senate.
For this session in the Senate, there were at least 48 earmarks for trial lawyers alone seen here. Not a peep out of Obama about the pork for his legal peers.
Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of Joe Bidens lobbyist son. More here
Obama’s earmarks for fiscal years 2006 and 2007 here. Obama’s earmarks for fiscal year 2008 here.
John McCain – a longtime staunch opponent of such earmarks - had no requests for pork barrel spending.

Currently, Senator Obama has voted 94 times to raise taxes. Senator McCain has NEVER voted to raise taxes.
The Questioon Every American Should Ask Himself:
Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?
Obama was sworn into office January 4, 2005
In December, 2005 Obama introduced a bill to promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is 2,345,410 square miles (approximately 1/4 the size of the United States), lies at the heart of Africa, and touches every major region of sub-Saharan Africa.
To meeting the basic needs of its citizens, including security, safety, and access to health care, education, food, shelter, and clean drinking water; to rebuild and enhance infrastructure, communications, and other mechanisms that will increase the ability of the central government to manage internal affairs, encourage economic development, and facilitate relief efforts of humanitarian organizations;
IN GENERAL- In addition to amounts otherwise available for such purposes, including amounts from regional funds, there is authorized to be appropriated $52,000,000 for fiscal year 2006 for bilateral assistance programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2151 et seq.), the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954 (68 Stat. 454, chapter 469), and the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq.).
AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS- Amounts appropriated are authorized to remain available until expended

Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?
The Global Poverty Act of 2007 is a Bill that Obama sponsored. He in fact was overjoyed to introduce it. This bill will cost taxpayers somewhere to the tune of $845 BILLION dollars.
Sen. Barack Obama, is rejoicing over the Senate committee passage of a plan that could end up costing us more tax dollars. The Global Poverty Act is committed to increase aid to Africa from the current $25,000,000,000 (25 Billion) annually to $50,000,000,000 (50 Billion) by 2010, and to cancel 100 percent of the debt obligations owed to the World Bank, African Development Bank, and International Monetary Fund by 18 of the world’s poorest nations.
This Bill dedicates 0.7 percent of the U.S. gross national product (GNP) to foreign aid, which over 13 years Obama said would amount to $845 billion “over and above what the U.S. already spends.”
This Bill would demand that the president develop “and implement” a policy to “cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief” and other programs. The bill is the result of the Group of Eight (G-8) nations meeting of July 2005. Obama is the sponsor There are 23 co-sponsors (18 democrats, 5 republicans).
This week there was another G-8 Summit in Japan. Africa again asked for more aid.
Put in simple terms
The United States is spending more money than it earns. Even if there wasn’t a war we still wouldn’t be able to balance the budget
Barack is spearheading the gifting of our hard earned tax dollars to another country when the United States can’t afford to take care of it’s own people. Is this his way of cleaning up Washington? Is this his idea of “change”?
This is what his campaign site says
As a U.S. Senator, Barack Obama says he has spearheaded the effort to clean up Washington. “I’m not asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington … I’m asking you to believe in yours.”
We don’t have the money. We don’t have the money for us. We don’t have the money for them.
Obama could have just as easily introduced a bill for the citizens of THIS COUNTRY. That would have kept him consistent with his campaign promises.
He didn’t.
He spent the time designing a bill for someone else with our money.
Just words?
Obama says he will raise taxes on “certain groups” With that being said are you SURE you’re not part of that “group”? If you’re sure you’re not part of that group are you SURE he won’t tax your “group” if he doesn’t get enough from “them”?
McCain continues to say government has taken enough of everyones’ money and won’t raise taxes for anyone. He asserts that government spending needs to be reined in.
Is Senator Obama giving America a preview of the priorities he would pursue if elected president?
The truth about Obama’s tax plan

UPDATE: Career voting records: Currently, Senator Obama has voted 94 times to raise taxes. Senator McCain has NEVER voted to raise taxes.
Six months after being sworn into office Senator Obama introduced legislation to delegate Juneteenth Independence Day from a “commemorative” day to a holiday to observe annually with appropriate ceremonies, activities and programs. One year later Obama introduced the legislation again.
The holiday is designed to celebrate the African Americans who had been slaves in the Southwest, June 19, commonly known as Juneteenth Independence Day, is the anniversary of their emancipation.
According to the bill Obama feels that recognizing the historical significance of Juneteenth Independence Day, and expressing the sense of Congress that history should be regarded as a means for understanding the past and solving the challenges of the future.
Senator Barack Obama is the Senate Host, National Juneteenth Congressional Committee
On July 31, I wrote a post titled “Slavery apology: will it affect YOUR tax dollars”
In that post, I quoted BO’s position statement when asked his stance on reparations while speaking at a journalists of color convention last Sunday (july 27th).
Today, I saw an API press release. The headline read, Obama says he opposes slavery reparations, apology.
The first sentence of the article today read:
“Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama opposes offering reparations to the descendants of slaves, putting him at odds with some black groups and leaders.”
That statement is not true.
If you read what he told the journalists of color at the Unity convention last Sunday, he said…
“I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it’s Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds.”
BO went on to say the government should focus on providing jobs, education and health.
What part of that indicates a stance of opposition?
He’s playing semantics games again with his legal speak.
I’ve begun to recognize when he’s fibbing (or shifting). After reading the text of the legislation – it seems to me that he agrees with the current ongoing dialogue and legislation.
Included in the text of the legislation…
Whereas African-Americans continue to suffer from the complex interplay between slavery and Jim Crow–long after both systems were formally abolished–through enormous damage and loss, both tangible and intangible, including the loss of human dignity, the frustration of careers and professional lives, and the long-term loss of income and opportunity; (see more at end of this post)
Black leaders welcomed the formal apology on Tuesday. In a statement from Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, a Democratic congressman from Michigan…
“We must now continue our efforts to free African-Americans from the shackles of inferior education, inadequate health care and lack of jobs.”
It appears that his dialogue is the same. The push is for reparations through education, health care and jobs.
Currently, there are some two dozen members of Congress are co-sponsoring legislation to create a commission that would study reparations – that is, payments and programs to make up for the damage done by slavery. (see at end of this post HR 40)
Do you see where this is going with our government lawmakers – including Obama?
After reading this mornings headlines, I wondered to myself if the heckler who interrupted his speech yesterday, Aug. 1, during a rally in St. Petersburg, FL, wasn’t perhaps staged.
The reason I question the “staging” of events is because it’s been only three days ago that legislation in Congress was passed to apologize for slavery. The black communities are happy that the government is taking steps towards reparations. The sign and timing is off. Unless – you’re staging it for the white community who might be concerned.
News agencies picked up the clip all around the country. The timing couldn’t have been better. The heckler stood up with a sign that said, “What about the black community Obama?”
Obama’s response to the black community:
I may not have spoken out the way you want me to speak out,” he said. “But I am suggesting that I have spoken out, and spoken out forcefully.”
There. It seems like he has appeased everyone like I’ve noticed he always does through semantics. He’s told the whites that he opposes offering reparations and he’s told the blacks he’s spoken out in a different way. That way, I believe, will be through our tax dollars because he believes
“…not just offer words, but offer deeds.” BO went on to say the government should focus on providing jobs, education and health.
Remember when your child was young and you could always tell when he was fibbing or not telling the whole truth by a facial or physical characteristic the child would do? You knew little Johnny was fibbing when he ground his toe in the sand and wouldn’t look you in the eye?
I’ve come to recognize Obama’s characteristic is when he makes a statement that starts out with, “I have said in the past – and I’ll repeat again…” it tells me to investigate the statement because there will probably be multiple versions of his quoted position statement and he’s trying to cancel one out as having never said it.
H.Res.194 — Rep. Steve Cohen (TN) introduced the bill titled “Apologizing for the enslavement and racial segregation of African-Americans” back in Feb. 2007. On 7/29/2008 it was Passed/agreed to in the House. (notice the timing of the bill) Click here to read the entire bill. (click “H.Res” under 110th Congress and scan for bill number)
HR 40 – Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (MI) introduced the bill titled “To acknowledge the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and to establish a commission to examine the institution of slavery, subsequently de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African-Americans, to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies, and for other purposes.” Back in Jan. 2007.
HR 40 authorizes an appropriation of $8 Million for the study. The bill starts out by indicating the committee shall include an examination of capture and procurement of Africans; the transport of Africans to the US … including their treatment during transport; the sale and acquisition of Africans as chattel property in interstate and instrastate commerce; the treatment of African slaves in the colonies and the United States, including the deprivation of their freedom, exploitation of their labor, and destruction of their culture, language, religion, and families.
The bill goes on to indicate an investigation on reparations is authorized. Whether the Government of the United States should offer a formal apology on behalf of the people of the United States for the perpetration of gross human rights violations on African slaves and their descendants; Whether African-Americans still suffer from the lingering effects; Whether, in consideration of the Commission’s findings, any form of compensation to the descendants of African slaves is warranted; If the Commission finds that such compensation is warranted, what should be the amount of compensation, what form of compensation should be awarded, and who should be eligible for such compensation. The bill is long and has more details you might be interested in. Click here to read the entire bill. (click “HR” under 110th Congress and scan for bill number)
The Question EVERY American Should Ask Himself
Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?
Senator Obama introduced a bill early 2007 entitled “To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to authorize grant programs to enhance the access of low-income African-American students to higher education.”
The short title is Predominantly Black Institution Act of 2007.
The amendment’s Purpose: It is the purpose of this section to assist Predominantly Black Institutions in expanding educational opportunity through a program of Federal assistance.
Eligible institution:
The bill makes availability of grant money limited to (among other things) an institution who has an enrollment of undergraduate students that of not less than 40 percent African-American students
When Senator Obama introduced the bill to the Senate there were no co-sponsors. The bill is long and complicated and works in conjunction with “The Higher Education Act of 1965.” To read the entire text of the bill Obama introduced click on the link below.
UPDATE: Career voting records: Currently, Senator Obama has voted 94 times to raise taxes. Senator McCain has NEVER voted to raise taxes.
Today I reached an epiphany as I was doing my endless research on the unknown presidential presumptive nominee.
I had made an abrupt u-turn from my seemingly endless drudgery through legislative bills that he has had his hands on. I haven’t been impressed.
Instead, I chose to go back to Chicago. It was like a V-8 moment – you know – when you realize you’ve been looking for that missing piece of the puzzle and realize it was right there in front of you the whole time but you couldn’t see it because it was being dragging around under your sleeve?
The reason I chose to go back to Chicago was because I wanted to see how Illinois is faring these days after he touched their lives politically. After you read what I’ve found you might have an epiphany also.
He’s telling us that he is going to lower our INCOME taxes. That may be true. Technically. In legal speak. But from what I’m seeing in Chicago it appears that that town/state has gone EXCISE tax crazy. And that’s the area where I went back to snoop around to see what’s going on in the state that he says he has helped so much.
I’m beginning to wonder if Obama is promising to lower the income tax on most citizens and in the back of his mind he intends on issuing new “types” of taxes to impose on goods and services on the federal level that will hit everyone – the same way Illinois is raising revenue. I mean, TECHNICALLY he won’t be raising income taxes, right? And NO ONE will be immune to his form of taxation.
Unemployment as of May was at 6.4% in his state of Illinois.
I’ve compiled a partial list, although there are more excise taxes I’ve run across — which I haven’t further researched — because, frankly, I’ve seen enough to reach a conclusion. Excise taxes that have either been imposed or proposed in Chicago include:
Gas tax — Illinois’ gasoline tax stands at 39.5 cents per gallon, which ranks 4th highest nationally. Additionally, the state’s general sales tax is applied to gasoline purchases. Add to that a county tax of a 6 cents per gallon.
State general tax — Illinois levies a 6.25% general state sales or “use” state tax on consumers.
County general tax – Cook county (Chicago area) imposes a 1.75% sales tax
City general tax – (Chicago) imposes a 1.25% sales tax
RTA (Regional Transit Authority) tax = 1%
Total Chicago general sales tax = 10.25%. Chicago currently has the highest tax in any major US city
Liquor tax – depends on the type of liquor. Late 10-07, Chicago City Hall proposed an added taxes on wine, beer and spirits that would amount to more than an 85 percent tax increase on alcohol in the past three years. The concoction of seven different taxes already means more than 40 percent of the price of beer, wine and spirits is attributable to taxes.
Cigarette tax – Chicago’s combined tax total of $4.05 per pack is the highest in the nation
Bottled water tax – 5 cents per bottle (not to be confused with a deposit)
Property tax – at the state AND local levels
Ambulance tax – was up for referendum
Amusement tax — City amusement tax of 7% and a county amusement tax of 3%. Apparently there was a lawsuit Illinois has filed against eBay, Inc., alleging that the company is liable for Chicago amusement tax
Robin Hood Tax – (april 2008) Currently voters will be asked to decide if people making more than $250,000 a year should have their Illinois income tax doubled
The city of Chicago, State of Illinois and County of Cook continue to run with deficits and are searching for more ways to gain revenues
My question to every American…
Do you believe the government has enough of your tax money to accomplish what they need to do?
UPDATE: Career voting records: Currently, Senator Obama has voted 94 times to raise taxes. Senator McCain has NEVER voted to raise taxes. (Evaluate those votes in contrast to the length of each candidates career)
Obama seems to believe that government spending cutbacks are not an option — but rather, we need MORE government spending — which would mean gaining revenue from SOMEWHERE.
Do you really believe he won’t take your hard earned money somehow?
And all the while — we Americans go without healthcare insurance and Senator Obama is proud that he’s written a bill to take a percentage of our GNP revenues THAT COULD PAY OUR HEALTH INSURANCE – but instead gives it to Africa through the “Global Poverty Act.” PEPFAR 2 is another of many examples of his ideology of what he wants to do with YOUR tax dollars. It’s not going to go to US or our children.
I urge everyone to use the links to the right to scan through the bills that Obama has introduced and co-sponsored in his career, as well as his voting record.
The money was provided through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Head Start program. Full breaking story here
Senator Obama is pro-choice. So much so, that he’s come under fire for what some call his radical views. Below is a video that speaks volumes about Obama’s stance on abortion.
Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice this story below may make you question your personal views on if or when one draws the line on abortion.
Today, I explore the rumors and truths about Obama’s stance on abortion.
Firstly, let me explain how voting works in the state of Illinois. Obama has come under fire for voting “present” while in the Illinois legislature. In fact, he has been cited as voting “present” 129 times in Illinois.
A vote of “present” in Illinois is “a no vote with an explanation.” Legally, there’s not much difference between the two votes, but practically, it can let the sponsors or other legislators know of problems with the bill that should be corrected.” It’s counted as a “NO” vote.
Jill Stanek, a nurse in Chicago stepped forward to tell her personal story about Obama and abortion. You can read this story by doing a google search and find her story all over the internet. I’ve linked three stories for your convenience – National Review Online, Town Hall, and World Net Daily. The account is consistent and easily verified.
In 1999, Nurse Stanek worked in the maternity ward at Christ Hospital in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago, which is affiliated with the United Church of Christ. (Does that church name ring a bell?)
That year she witnessed an event that was so appalling to her that she spoke out publicly about the hospital procedure termed “induced labor abortion.”
She describes what happened one day while working on the maternity ward…
Babies born through induced labor abortion occasionally are born alive, but left unattended will die quickly. One particular incident involved a child with downs syndrome that was aborted. The child lived through the procedure and was placed in the soiled laundry room to die. After Stanek rocked and cradled the fetus until it died fourty-five minutes later.
From that point forward, Stanek started speaking out publicly about her observations and experiences. Obama was resistant to the ensueing movement to end induced labor abortion.
Stanek later took it to the congressional level.
The Illinois branch of the Planned Parenthood organization has given him a “100 percent” pro-choice voting rating and depicted the present votes as part of a previously agreed strategy to provide political cover for other legislators.
During his time as a state senator, no major pro-choice organization questioned Obama’s present votes. Instead, Obama received endorsements from Personal PAC, NARAL of Illinois PAC, the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council, and, YES, EVEN Illinois NOW.
The presumptive Democratic nominee responded sharply in an interview Saturday night with the Christian Broadcast Network, saying anti-abortion groups were “lying” about his record.
“They have not been telling the truth,” Mr. Obama said. “And I hate to say that people are lying, but here’s a situation where folks are lying.”
He added that it was “ridiculous” to suggest he had ever supported withholding lifesaving treatment for an infant. “It defies common sense and it defies imagination, and for people to keep on pushing this is offensive,” he said in the CBN interview.
Below are the bills regarding abortion that Obama voted on in Illinois. Attached are the links of the entire bill on record.

While Obama is uniting us here in the USA – youths raise their fists in Nigeria as the airwaves emit the lyrics “Obama the Lord is your strength, we believe in change.” Obama is currently the most popular man in Nigeria.
Obama’s first major appearance since returning Saturday from a 10-day trip abroad was to address a crowd of thousands of journalists of color at the UNITY convention in Chicago last Sunday, July 27, 2008. The event was broadcast live on CNN.
When Obama walked on stage-although told beforehand not to applaud-journalists leapt to their feet and applauded with zeal.
Questions were posed regarding BO’s stance when it comes to reparations. Would he take it a step further, in terms of apologizing for slavery or offering reparations to various groups?
Obama said,
“I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it’s Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds.”
BO went on to say the government should focus on providing jobs, education and health
Journalists ran to the stage to snap photos of Obama during the two-minute break midway through the event.
While at the convention he (again) expressed his approval of the Senate’s passage of a major housing bill to help homeowners avert foreclosure. (see my post entitled Mortgage Foreclosure Act and YOUR tax dollars)
Two days later a bill passed in the House of Representatives in the form of a formal apology for slavery. Now, it’s said, we need to make reparations with our deeds because the argument is — talk is cheap.
