There is some disagreement as to the origin of that expression, which used to mean specifically by fair means or foul, that is, legal or illegal (crooked). The term dates  back to the time of the English theologian John Wycliffe, who used it in his Controversial Tracts (c.1380).

Such controversial tracts were pointed out today in an editorial I was reading about a new website that came out today.

New World Order

“New World Order” was the topic of a speech Biden presented on the senate floor years ago. He made reference to “change.” The speech is on record in the 102nd congress.

According to a W0rld Net Daily commentary dated 9/16/05:

On June 29, 1992, Biden gave a speech on the senate floor titled “On the Threshold of the New World Order: The Wilsonian Vision and American Foreign Policy in the 1990s and Beyond.” This 54-page speech is treason with Biden fully supporting the elimination of our republic in favor of one-world government.
Joseph Biden was dropped like a leper from the ‘88 presidential race because of the plagiarism scandal against him.

According to a News With Views commentary dated 8/25/08:

In the fourth section of Biden’s blather, he runs off about “creating” an environmental revolution. Yes, that’s exactly what global warming and this whole greenie garbage is all about: creating a movement to siphon off the wealth of the American people using scientifically flawed propaganda:

Birth Certificate (Part 1)

As I’m sure you’re aware, there has been a lawsuit filed in Philadelphia Federal Court challenging Barack Obama’s qualifications to be President. Click here  to read the entire story about the lawsuit.

A motion has been filed for an emergency temporary restraining order prohibiting Obama from running for president, and enjoining the DNC from nominating Obama as the Democratic presidential candidate.

The TRO was denied but the exhibits have been taken into evidence. The matter stands and the case remains open, allowing the subject to once again be brought forth once all parties are served.

“Change” I’ve come to depend on

I wrote a post today and made a decision at the time not to mention a piece of information that weighed heavily on my mind.

I’ve reconsidered, I’ve decided to share my thoughts.

Early on, as I’ve expressed before, I was enchanted with Obama’s speeches. In my quest to eagerly learn more about him I initially went to his Senate sight to read more.  It was at that point in time, that I read on his senate website that he was a proud member of the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC). I read both of BO’s books as well. Any piece of information I could grasp about him or the people around him – I read.

As coincidence would have it, I had downloaded Obama’s family tree prior to the infamous speech he made on Memorial Day in May while in New Mexico about his “uncle” who was in WWII.

The reason I downloaded it was because the name “Wright” was listed in his ancestry. At the time, Obama had been referring to Rev. Wright as an Uncle figure in his life — I wanted to follow up on that lead later — wondering, if perhaps, Rev. Wright was indeed an extended family member from generations back (which I have yet to do).

At the time, Obama cited that his uncle had helped liberate Auschwitz during WWII.

After it was pointed out that Obama’s mother was an only child, he later revised his statement to say that it wasn’t an uncle, but rather a great uncle.

After it was pointed out that the US didn’t liberate Auschwitch, he later revised his statement to say that his great uncle liberated Ohrduf camp, a sub-camp of Buchenwald and added that his uncle was a member of the 89th Infantry Division.

With these “changes” came great debate on the internet forums. Unknown to most people, the “great uncle” in question still seemed to have some discrepancies.

You see, there was a Charles W. Payne who was on his family tree who was born approximately 1924. When researched, Charles W. Payne did not serve the 89th infantry, but rather was enlisted in the NAVY.

After it was pointed out that his uncle Charles W. Payne couldn’t have liberated the sub-camp of Buchenwald because he wasn’t even in the Army, Obama later revised his statement to say that his great uncles name was Charles T. Payne.

There WAS a Charles T. Payne listed as serving in the 89th Infantry Division.

But here’s what most people don’t know about that discrepancy.

I downloaded his family tree off the internet shortly before the great uncle debacle. The family tree I downloaded said:

15. Leona MCCURRY was born about May 1897 in Kansas.

Rolla Charles PAYNE and Leona MCCURRY married in Kansas about 1922 and had the following children:

1. i. Madelyn PAYNE

ii. Charles W. PAYNE born about 1924.

iii. Arlene PAYNE born about 1926.

Later, when I revisited the SAME website after the argument began, the information had changed to:

15. Leona MCCURRY was born about May 1897 in Kansas.

Rolla Charles PAYNE and Leona MCCURRY married in Kansas about 1922 and had the following children:

1. i. Madelyn PAYNE

ii. Charles Thomas PAYNE born in 1925.

iii. Arlene PAYNE born about 1926.

His geneology had been changed on the internet after researchers pointed out the additional inconsistencies in his story.

Another point that should be made is an earily similar 2002 speech Obama made:

My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton’s army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain. I don’t oppose all wars.

Is it possible both his granddad and granddads’ brother both fought in the war? Or had the war story evolved from 2002 to 2008?

I can’t substantiate the family tree that I had downloaded on my hard drive. After all, who would believe me? Eventually the whole incident was forgotten.

Should we be forgetting these “changing” stories that keep cropping up or are they red flags we should be tucking away in the back of our mind and make note of?

UPDATE: During the Denver Convention Michelle stood up in the audience (on the last day?) along with an old Uncle Willie as he was introduced on national TV as the uncle who was in the war. I about had a cow when I heard his name announced. I wish I had that clip to verify what I thought I heard.

Obama on Abortion

Senator Obama is pro-choice. So much so, that he’s come under fire for what some call his radical views. Below is a video that speaks volumes about Obama’s stance on abortion.

Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice this story below may make you question your personal views on if or when one draws the line on abortion.

Today, I explore the rumors and truths about Obama’s stance on abortion.

Firstly, let me explain how voting works in the state of Illinois. Obama has come under fire for voting “present” while in the Illinois legislature. In fact, he has been cited as voting “present” 129 times in Illinois.

A vote of “present” in Illinois is “a no vote with an explanation.” Legally, there’s not much difference between the two votes, but practically, it can let the sponsors or other legislators know of problems with the bill that should be corrected.”  It’s counted as a “NO” vote.

Jill Stanek, a nurse in Chicago stepped forward to tell her personal story about Obama and abortion. You can read this story by doing a google search and find her story all over the internet. I’ve linked three stories for your convenience –  National Review Online, Town Hall, and World Net Daily. The account is consistent and easily verified.

In 1999, Nurse Stanek worked in the maternity ward at Christ Hospital in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago, which is affiliated with the United Church of Christ. (Does that church name ring a bell?)

That year she witnessed an event that was so appalling to her that she spoke out publicly about the hospital procedure termed “induced labor abortion.”

She describes what happened one day while working on the maternity ward…

Babies born through induced labor abortion occasionally are born alive, but left unattended will die quickly. One particular incident involved a child with downs syndrome that was aborted. The child lived through the procedure and was placed in the soiled laundry room to die. After Stanek rocked and cradled the fetus until it died fourty-five minutes later.

From that point forward, Stanek started speaking out publicly about her observations and experiences. Obama was resistant to the ensueing movement to end induced labor abortion.

Stanek later took it to the congressional level.

The Illinois branch of the Planned Parenthood organization has given him a “100 percent” pro-choice voting rating and depicted the present votes as part of a previously agreed strategy to provide political cover for other legislators.

During his time as a state senator, no major pro-choice organization questioned Obama’s present votes. Instead, Obama received endorsements from Personal PAC, NARAL of Illinois PAC, the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council, and, YES, EVEN Illinois NOW.

The presumptive Democratic nominee responded sharply in an interview Saturday night with the Christian Broadcast Network, saying anti-abortion groups were “lying” about his record.

“They have not been telling the truth,” Mr. Obama said. “And I hate to say that people are lying, but here’s a situation where folks are lying.”

He added that it was “ridiculous” to suggest he had ever supported withholding lifesaving treatment for an infant. “It defies common sense and it defies imagination, and for people to keep on pushing this is offensive,” he said in the CBN interview.

Hitch Balls and Air Pressure

When you go back through the archives you can better understand how Obama made that clueless statement about tire pressure. Obama doesn’t know much about truck parts either…

In a September, 2007 GQ piece, reporter Ryan Lizza describes another Obama moment:

…during a swing through New Hampshire, where he rented a Sunseeker RV, loaded up his wife and two little girls, and “vacationed” in the state’s scenic North Country, all the while being trailed by a busload of photographers and reporters, numerous staff vehicles, and half a dozen Secret Service agents. Despite the phoniness of the trip, there was one candid moment … We stopped at a picturesque redbrick general store… As Obama stood at the counter paying, he looked quizzically at a display of trailer-hitch covers dressed in the guise of moose and turkeys. Turning to the phalanx of cameramen and reporters, Obama bravely wondered, “Who knows what a hitch ball is? This is a hitch-ball cover. We don’t know what a hitch ball is. Anybody know?” A cameraman politely explained that it’s the silver thing on the back of a truck used to tow a trailer. “Oh, I see,” Obama said, looking as if he was doing a mental calculation about whether this was one of those moments the press would use to make it seem like he’s out of touch.

After BO made his statement that gained national fame and became the laughing stock of the country regarding tire pressure, he’s been losing his temper.

Obama would publicly say, “There are things that you can do individually though to save energy; making sure your tires are properly inflated, simple thing, but we could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups. You could actually save just as much.”

That quote can be found on the internet videos of his speech coming from his own lips. Sadly, I was unable to find that specific initial quote in print through a major news source.

I did,  however, find later quotes that tire and auto specialists made along with a new quote BO made that tire inflation could save on gas mileage. The major press was kind enough to pick up on the later quote without his gaffe.

It’s no wonder Obama’s statement was made the butt of jokes. It’s elementary that keeping our tires filled somewhere between the factory specifications of the automobile and factory specifications of the tire gives better mileage – thus saving energy. We all know that. AAA, tire and auto manufacturers have been telling us that for years and we all agree.

What the whole country thought was hilarious was that Obama told is that keeping our tires filled would save as much in gasoline as all the oil we’d get off of drilling here in our country.

Was he just so wrapped up in the moment that he didn’t take time for a reality check to think about what he was saying?

I wish BO would have pointed out that the inflation limit on the tire could interfere with the optimum handling performance suggested by the automobile manufacturer for the specific model car those tires are mounted on. There are safety standards in place and a blanket statement about inflating your tires is a dangerous statement for a lay person to make.

Secondly, modern cars don’t need “tune-ups” these days. That’s what those computer systems onboard do. They’re self-adjusting.

Obama meant well – at 47 years old, he doesn’t know anything about the subject and probably elaborated on something one of his campaign advisors told him to say.

Obama has probably never lifted the hood of a car in his life.

Then there was the other HUGE catastropy when the Democrats–who had a show of bad form–went into a five week recess in spite of the Republican Congress holding it’s “Modern Day Boston Tea Party”  in an effort to solve the gas price problem.

In response to the situation, Senator McCain said he would be willing to put his campaign on hold to go back to Washington, DC.

Not a peep out of Obama. He went to Hawaii for vacation instead.

Obama is having to deal with his campaign problems and apparently isn’t concerned with what’s happening on the “Hill”.

As the week comes to a close, it comes as no surprise to me that BO had to put himself into a time out because of his temper this week.

Maybe he’ll contemplate other ways to save energy while on his flight back to Hawaii.  Or maybe he’s discussed energy saving strategies with the pilot of his spacious 757 campaign plane he bumps around the world in whilst we all try to find ways to get to work next week.

Today was DAY FIVE of the Republicans’ (GOP Members) holding their “Modern Day Boston Tea Party” in an ongoing historic “Gas Price Protest” on the House Floor in Washington, DC that may continue up to the Democratic National Convention. See news and videos here.

IS THE MAINSTREAM PRESS (NBC, ABC, CBS, IP) EVEN COVERING THIS?

If you’ve not seen headlines of this historic revolt in the newspapers and television then quietly ask yourself what else the media may not be reporting.

This election year–like all others–we base our presidential vote on the information we’ve come to trust coming from the press to make our decision.

As I noted in my earlier posts – Nancy Pelosi adjourned Congress last week for a five-week recess. The lights were turned off. The cameras were turned off to the live cable feed. The microphones were turned off. The Democrats LEFT.

In an act of revolt, the Republican Congress, speaking for millions of Americans, refused to leave the House Floor in an attempt to force the Democratic Congress to work together to resolve the energy crisis.

Today, former Rep. Robert Walker (R-Pa.) joined Representatives in the chamber to protest Democrats’ adjournment without a vote on offshore drilling.

As I noted last Friday in my post titled “BREAKING NEWS…“ and again in my post Monday titled “STILL BREAKING NEWS…” the Republicans continue to show up on the House floor in an attempt to join hundreds of Americans in demanding that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) bring Congress back to town for a vote on lower gas prices.

Rep. Burton was quoted as saying

“We have about fifty Democratic members that will vote for a pro-drilling bill. The Speaker is blocking that vote. She has closed this place down…”

I urge every American to contact their Congressional Representatives to urge them, that in spite of the media blackout you want them to bring Congress back into session and they need to be there. You can look up who your representative is and write him through this Government website.

Congress Blackout (part 2)

Some are saying there is a media blackout going on. The House floor has no lights, no camera, no microphone. NO coverage.
Continuing (My Friday blog post “BREAKING NEWS…”) the news about Democratic Congress shutting off the lights while the Republicans stayed in an effort to resolve the energy crisis last Friday. The saga continues.
The Republicans show up again today to a darkened House floor to continue their modern day “Boston Tea Party.”
A request was made to the President Friday asking for a special session to be held.
The letter read (in part?)…

“Since Speaker Pelosi has decided not to keep the House in session to allow this vote to take place, we urge you to use the power vested in you by the Constitution to convene an immediate energy special session of Congress.”

The request was denied Monday. A spokesman for the White House, said

“We don’t have plans to call Congress into session — it won’t make a difference if Democratic leaders are unwilling to bring up a bill for an up-down vote”

Senator McCain said,

“Congress should come back in session, and I’m willing to come off the campaign trail.”

Senator Obama wants us to check the air pressure on our tires to solve the crisis.

Town Hall Meetings

Remember when Senator Obama was invited by Senator McCain to ten town hall meetings with him before the National Convention?

Obama, at the time, replied, “I think that’s a great idea.”

On May 16, 2008, Obama said, he was willing to debate foreign affairs with McCain “Any time. Any place.”

Then it never happened.

Here’s what few journalists are telling you…

McCain wanted to conduct ten informal (unmoderated) town hall meetings where the public could stand and ask impromptu questions of each of the candidate without any guidelines.

Obama refused to attend the unmoderated town meetings but was willing to attend if McCain changed the format of the meetings to moderated Lincoln-Douglas style debates. McCain declined to change the format.

In turn Obama invited McCain to two of his town hall LD debates. Still declining to debate with scripted questions and answers, McCain declined the counter offer of moderated town hall meetings.

For those of you who don’t know what Lincoln/Douglas debate format is…

An “LD” debate is structured. When Lincoln/Douglas debated, one spoke for an hour, the other for an hour and a half, and the first was allowed a half-hour rebuttal. They are staged much like prepared speeches.

In effect, Obama didn’t want to stand in front of a crowd without a prepared speech. McCain didn’t want to stand in front of a crowd with a prepared speech.

Today, in an AP release, Obama’s campaign manager said the three commission-sponsored debates would most likely be the only debates the two candidates will have.

A campaign spokeswoman went on to say Senator Obama had invited Senator McCain to two town hall meetings and they didn’t materialize because, “the McCain campaign had rejected Obama’s proposal for two joint town hall meetings.” Yes. McCain declined. Now you know WHY they both declined each others invitations.

The three commission-sponsored debates will be Sept. 26, Oct. 7 and Oct. 15. The VP debate will be held Oct. 2.

Race – I’m Going to Say IT

Until now, no one has been willing to talk about race in this campaign. It’s whispered behind closed doors – but never openly.

Senator Obama came from nowhere and has packaged himself as the man who will unite the country. To date, his marketing campaign – because that’s all it is – has been highly successful with his ethnic group and the young.

Obama is having a hard time getting the older white vote.

But no one says WHY. Well – let’s get it out there – because I’m tired of everyone skirting around the issue and not coming out with it.

In my opinion, the reason Obama can’t secure huge numbers of older white voters is because almost every older white person in this country has been beat out of a job by a minority because of affirmative action.

Through the infinite wisdom of the government, affirmative action was created. The initial intent was grand, commendable and warranted.

In present times, this antiquated law has resulted in qualified whites being passed over for jobs. In the name of  job quotas through affirmative action whites have had to step aside while less qualified minorities were given the job. A lot of older white folks have had to work in “team” environments where not everyone works as a “team.” Management hands are tied because of the threat of affirmative action lawsuits.

Older white voters are relating to the way Obama is talking and acting on a personal level.

Older whites have been beat out of jobs by minorities with no qualifications using the exact techniques to be handed jobs. In the end, the minority man will indignantly accuse the employer that he’s not being hired because of his race/sex and will never address their lack of qualifications.
